  • About us

    Future You

    An innovative, hybrid education service

Future You is designed to support learners for whom mainstream school is inaccessible as a result of medical or emotional vulnerabilities

We are a team of specialist tutors within the Secure and Specialist Education Service. This is a Local Authority run provision designed to support those who are medically unwell or those who need help with reintegration into education.

    • Our Curriulum

Our team of tutors are all experienced in classroom teaching, mentoring and pastoral support

      What do we offer?

Our core offer for most students involves the following subjects in line with the National Curriculum – we do not make exam entries:

      • English
      • Maths
      • Science
      • PSHE

In some cases we can also offer a wider curriculum, including:

      • History
      • Geography
      • Drama
      • Art

We follow a school based daily timetable of 50 minute lessons including tutor time and weekly assemblies. The majority of our lessons are offered via Teams as an online provision in classes of approximately 10 learners.

We are able to offer 1-1 mentoring and support with college and work experience placements. We also provide wellbeing support through the use of the Action your Potential program.

      • Action Your Potential

        About Action Your Potential

Action Your Potential (AYP) helps students and their parents understand their amazing brain and how to unleash it's learning power; helping them to learn and remember more, build great well-being and manage their brain's negative biases.

This is achieved through a unique programme of bespoke 1:1 coaching and online video courses, using the very latest research in neuroscience and cognitive psychology.

        The 12 Rocks of Well-Being

The 12 Rocks of Well-Being are 12 activities or habits we all have to carry out every day to give our brains the best chance of constructing the best version of ourselves:

        • Sleep
        • Exercise
        • Eating healthily
        • Mindfulness
        • Mind wandering
        • Emotions
        • Walking outside
        • Music
        • Connecting with people
        • Gratitude and kindness
        • Engaging in your life's purpose
        • Learn, play, create, read

They’re simple but require planning to make sure we do them in our busy lives. Self-care is not self-indulgence; it is the basis of well-being and a civilised society. Grumpy brains that don't get their needs met are less compassionate, less kind and far less effective.

        • Stakeholder Feedback

I just wanted to let you know I am back in school doing Maths, thank you for all the help you gave me.

           Future You feedback

All the teachers are lovely and helpful. By learning online, it is less distracting, and the benefits of small groups means they feel that their views and ideas are heard and appreciated by everyone.
           Future You feedback (Year 9)

It's been an absolute privilege for me to have been able to see these students grow in confidence and self belief.

            What happens once accepted?

An initial meeting is used to design the package which is most appropriate and provides the best chance of reintegration success. Every package is personalised and based on the individual needs of the learner.

Packages are reviewed every 8 weeks to review goal setting, monitor success and ensure that the provision remains appropriate. Alongside the 8 weekly reviews, weekly reports are sent out to outline all sessions accessed. Half termly reports are also collated and shared.
