In Hampshire Achieves, we work across the county in a range of fixed and community settings, additionally for some teaching staff they will be the only Maths/English tutor in that particular location/setting. It is therefore extremely important that we provide the means for subject specialists to come together to share and support each other.
CoPs are informal groups of staff who share a responsibility/teach the same subject in different locations to a range of YP. These groups can have amazing impact as they: support newly qualified/newly recruited staff provide a sounding board for staff to test new ideas/approaches come together to support a member of staff who is having difficulty teaching a particular topic/YP. These groups can have amazing impact as they:
- support newly qualified/newly recruited staff
